So, what are we doing then?

Our current activites are focused in 4 main areas:

Informing parents about the curriculum

Our initial survey identified that parents wanted to know more about what kids are being taught. We’ve been working with the school to push this agenda, and we’ve got some interesting things in the pipeline.

Encouraging parent/school contact and involvement

This one of our key remits, and things like the “Meet the Teacher” night and other initiatives help to keep ths school and parents in close contact.

Increasing communication between everyone

The initial survey also identified better communication as something that we should be focusing on, so we’ve got advanced notice from the school of events which are posted in the diary on this site. We’ve also been looking at other ways of increasing the communciation from the school to the parents, but also from the parents back to the school.

Safer Routes to School

We’re reviving this group from a few years ago, and want to continue the excellent work that was started back then. Looking at things like the School Travel Plan as well as kid’s safety, and encouraging healthier choices in getting to school, this group has lots of ideas and potential.
